Written in the folds of Shalini Parfums Paradis Provence by Shalini Kumar and Perfumer Maurice Roucel are all the eternal aspects of that blessed land, a piece of this earth etched in my memory. Sacred to the point of pilgrimage, Provence retrieved me……..Provence - the murmurings that rush forth in the speaking, utterance of that word, all her gifts reside in it, all manner of delights that soothe are unleashed, it fills all the faded cracks, world- weary trembling lands of the Soul. Warming the depths and restoring lightness in being.
I am so indebted to this deeply beautiful piece of France that I render homage each year, returning and returning to a place that I wedded and wove into myself. Provence literally gathered her into my arms and made me whole again. There is no need for personal histories but as soon as I alighted in the Luberon I felt an unseen caress on a wounded heart, whispers on the winds that carried me far from the madness of a blighted love. She held me aloft and slowly, slowly each day of walking, each footstep, being bathed in her luminousity, colours that transformed me with new sight and inhaling the warmed herbal lays underfoot, she bought me home. Some certain places are written tightly into our fibre.

Paradis Provence contains the symphony of a place that has the power to transform, the blighted hear and breathe a gentle sigh of unburdening. Within this artistry crafted from the vision and connection of Shalini to Provence and the craftmanship of Maurice Roucel, here akin to a painting of great worth is a place distilled, captured in time so that all who inhale, drink deeply of the gilded shafts and neverending blue hours serenaded by cicada’s. Paradis Provence is my mode of transportation…… Alchemical transformation is possible, lead can become Golden.
