Fleur Japonais is the 7th fragrance to grace the Shalini Parfum collection, elegantly crafted by Shalini Kumar and Maurice Roucel. A tranquil incense of delicate proportions, elegant, resinous drifts that weave around me a cocoon of familiar protection.
Fleur Japonais is a sacred chime to return to quietude, to retreat from the cacophony of everyday to find again the extraordinary within.

The inspiration of Shalini Kumar, New York based Couturiere was the Sakura and the Samurai, images of resilience, strength, fragility and the rebirth in a meditative state. How during the cold, bleak months of winter, physically and metaphorically we long for the signs of Spring, the bursting forth, the blossoms arrival in a flurry of pastel fragility, their subtle power breaking the spell of winter. It gives us pause in its delight, to inhale deeply in the subtlety of its scent and sight, exhaling in a release the knowledge all is returning.
Fleur Japonais is the ripples emanating outwards from the still water of seclusion, the silent sound of a footfall on virgin snow, the stilling at the tone of a single chime that reverberates within, a clarion to renew, the sound of silence in petal fall.
The sight of emergence, mirrored here in the cherry blossom and profound experience of the magnolia component are as a balm to the Soul, barren branches festooned in the luminosity of Spring’s promise written upon the Temple bowers. Each petal of perfection in its undulating passage to earth exudes a tranquility in its subtle fragrance.

Enter the sanctuary on deliberate, measured feet, stirring in swathes the pastel-tinted snow. Fleur Japonais is the scent of slow motion breath when we embark on a pulse that is deeper and more resonant. Its resins and incense signed with Frankincense, Labdanum and Sandalwood are the invocation to undo the worldly concerns and to attend in altered rhythm, to become the ritual itself.
Travelling in the stillness of the meditative state is a strength, found here within the emergence of flowers, the warriors strength attuned with spiritual grace, a refined estate.
Fleur Japonais is the place of renewal where strength is the gift found in the well of silence. It is a beauty, breathtakingly exquisite containing within its perfumed halls all our fragilities and our strength’s, a reminder of our exceptional spiritual power in the temple offering bowl.
