How true, these words of Yeats, how they echo unfathomably through the centuries passing. We, mere mortals search and search for those ways that may lead us to this elusive realm.
Anka Kus is an Australian perfume house, based in Melbourne founded by Ali Erkekli, over recent times we have connected in various ways some conventional and others not so, he is one of those rare individuals who works from the same book as myself. There is an complicity betwixt us of a longer standing and I am honoured to be able to explore his collection and to present in three parts, three of his magnificent creations. The symbology of the Phoenix hovers high above all his endeavours, he is not afraid to reinvent, to challenge and to go beyond the boundaries and to soar, I respect that. He is a true creative with a rebellious heart and a soul that has traversed vast lifetimes.

Well, you might say, just what does it mean to dabble with the fee? How overjoyed, how fearless, how afraid and terrified can you be all in the same moment. Like its green cult namesake Absinthe, this perfume works its way inside, once imbibed there is no turning back. The unravelling has commenced.
Herbal leys rise sweetly from flesh, stolen from the very soul of the plants themselves, a concoction that gives voices to those hidden, normally elusive depths. Come Away, indeed in Yeats like timbre, it is a beckoning with consequence, a consequence so yearned for.
Intoxication drifts across lulling in its wake, tendrils of Patchouli, carried by the tussie mussie of herbs, a bouquet of invitation and protection, whispering in myriad tones all manner of the Fee’s sweet promises.
The Lure - Dark Beauty
Dissolving all boundaries, to step inside myself, a fee in hand and to voyage out the other side, a world between worlds where all may play but be warned there are no rules here. Where you have been taken is the realm of joy, mischief, magic and of senses beyond sense.
All opens into a place of suspension, time ceases in her linear trajectory and all is a rush of elation in the widely sundered heart, the light tripping of cashmere musk at the periphery and the unseen yet perceived cavorting, the merry dance of unfurled woods and patchouli in a union of detangled inhibition. Surely a midsummers night frolic in unpredictable company.

In a stupefied progression all calms and glimpses of a life before commence in minute apparitions, you have entered deeply and embraced the delirium, seen with ears and heard with eyes. Oakmoss and amber gift a soporific final caress, you know you must depart until you hear once again the clarion. Yet each journey into the worlds beyond sight and sound cleave a knowing, you have returned but not as before and all it takes is the slightest summons from the genie in the bottle and you will dive once more into natures depth. One day perchance, not to return for herein lies the risk, the risk to live. I wake in blissful estate swayed by a hammock, airs full of meadow softness and the residual mayhem of music as it fades across the field.
