Every Bead Of Sweat Rubj - Vero Profumo Vero Kern 2007
Every Bead of Sweat is an Offering to the Gods - Andi Garbi
In life, we are honoured to encounter others , even just once who leave a lasting impression, so it was with Vero Kern (1940-2018), the founder and creator of Vero Profumo. We exchanged various messages and emails and I found all her creations unusual and unique, they stood out as exceptions, masterpieces that danced to a strangely fantastic tune, that urged a different gait.
Perfumes are a love story. There is nothing more intimate in all of life than the connection between perfume and skin. An imaginary embrace, a folie à deux – or maybe even a liaison dangereuse?” – Vero Kern, May 2007
I am always led to perfumes that cause the hairs on the back of my neck to stand on end. One of the most treasured in my collection that never fails to draw in curious onlookers in a vaguely exhibitionist fervour is Vero Profumo’s, Rubj Extrait - Vero Kern.
They are distracted and beguiled, Rubj is a weave of raw potency with a blatancy that that takes their breath away. Haunted, there is no mistaking its intention, no sugar coating of flirty seductions, it means business !
An aroma of explicit ecstacy spread like a weighted haze, lost for a time outside the parameters of ‘norm’ in the earthly subtlety of vibrant flesh. Hot wooden shutters radiate scented air into the sanctuary within, where there are no boundaries or safe words. Bedding infused with the wafted remnants of visceral intimacy. An encapsulation, microcosm’s of pleasure, flushes of rouge tints on heated skin, imperceptible flow in movement, and beyond the discarded vestments, , the scent of a single rivulet of sweat as it traverses an inner thigh, the precise aroma of the point of contact.
